Following our biggest and best year to date, we caught up with Senior Management from our London, New York and Amsterdam offices to look back on their 2018 highlights and see what’s in store for 2019.

- What key business developments were made in London/New York/Amsterdam in 2018?
O: July 2018 saw the official opening of Concilium’s inaugural US office at 2 Park Avenue in New York. Over the last six months, the team have built and consolidated relationships with candidates and clients from across the US. Frequent travel is a big part of working at Concilium Search and in the US it is no different – we have travelled to Massachusetts, New Jersey, Philadelphia and Florida in the last few months to meet with a multitude of clients.
December 2018 saw the confirmation of a larger office – still based in Midtown Manhattan. The new office will enable us to support our existing clients better and look to work with new organizations.
T: 2018 saw our largest intake of new associates, we hired 10 graduates across our core industry areas in IT, Life Sciences and Industrials. This has enabled us to support our clients’ growing needs and solidifying existing partnerships. We also saw the successful launch of our new Strategy Division where we’ve been working very closely with multinational strategy and management consultancies.
K: Setting up our Amsterdam office was a major business development for us in 2018. Subsequently, our third office has massively increased the amount of clients we are able to work with in Europe.
- What was your personal highlight of 2018?
O: My personal highlight would have to be winning team of the year (as part of Healthcare Perm); in addition to successfully establishing the US office alongside Samuel Deane and Daniel Jeffery.
T: In 2018 Concilium expanded into new countries and now have a physical presence in both New York and Amsterdam, so my personal highlight was actually working out of the New York office for a week and seeing how far we’ve come in such a short space of time.
K: Being made Partner was an incredible achievement for me. I am also honoured to have been given the opportunity to set up an office abroad.
- How do you see your office developing in 2019?
O: 2019 will be a year of extensive growth for Concilium US. With a new office, we have the ability to hire a number of exceptional graduates over the year. This will ensure that we can continue our best in class service to our existing clients, whilst additionally expanding our client base across the US. With the current US Government’s focus on US jobs, now is a great time to be part of the executive search and interim recruitment market in America.
T: We are making lots of positive improvements to our support functions and internal processes, by investing heavily this year to help support our sustained growth. Meaning our consultants can focus on delivering excellent candidates for our clients.
K: Growth is at the forefront of our focus this year. We are looking forward to seeing our headcount and European client base increase.
- How you hope to see Concilium Search as a whole grow and progress this year?
O: As with the last four years we have been operating, 2019 will be the best year to date. We have three global offices which will all see additional headcount, and this will further our international reach and support for clients based across the globe.
T: 2019 will be a very exciting year for us as we focus on our New York and Amsterdam offices increasing their headcounts and building up their existing client base. Increasing our international presence even further.
K: I am anticipating strong growth on a global scale. I also hope to see us become a global leader in Executive Search.
